The Christopher family has been a costumer of Randall Carter’s Verdant Landscaping for some time and has called in the company to do some work. The old Chevy belonging to Jennifer Christopher, the only child of the Christopher’s, has broken down and Taylor has been called in to fix it. Ginger and Jennifer have plans to go the mall shopping. Drake’s mentor Leland Merriweather has asked him to drop off a package to the Christopher’s. They all happen to arrive at the Christopher estate at around the same time.

Randall and his crew get to work on the Christopher’s yard while Taylor hauls out her tools to work on the Chevy. After an hour or two working Randall notices something lying between the newly painted gazebo and a bush just starting to bloom. Upon further examination Randall discovers that it is the body of Jennifer Christopher. Despite his initial panic Randall manages to keep his head and doesn’t immediately examine the body. He calls the authorities sending out one of his men to wait for them. As all of this is happening Ginger comes on the scene looking for her friend. She seems the body and immediately freaks out. She rushes over to the body to check for pulse and loses her cool even further when she doesn’t detect one. She notices a typed note in the pocket of Jennifer’s shirt that reads, “I feel him calling. The desire to live is slowly going. The Angel of Death is Calls”.

Meanwhile Drake is introducing himself to Will Christopher’s wife, Catherine. He politely inquires about how the Christopher’s know Leland Merriweather. She explains that they know Merriweather through several of their charitable causes. As he shakes her hand he notices the touch of magic upon her. She open’s the package Drake has been tasked with delivering revealing that it contains a book on Catholics Saints that Will had loaned Merriweather from his private library. At this point in time overwhelmed as his curiosity regarding the magic that touches Catherine he opens his Third Eye. When Drake glances upon her with The Sight he sees an abused woman who has had her eyes torn out. This tells him that she’s been affected with some kind of mind magic which is a clear violation of the Fourth Law.

Taylor notices Randal’s man as he waits by the end of the driveway for the authorities. After discover what has transpired she rushes to investigate matters for herself. She discovers Randall and Ginger discussing the body with Ginger holding the apparent suicide note in her hand. She reads the note and suspects that some kind of monster is behind the killing compelling her to investigate the matter further.

Police, paramedics and firemen finally arrive on the scene. The paramedics immediately tend to the body and declare Jennifer Christopher dead. The police inform Catherine Christopher about her daughter’s death and their suspicion that she has committed suicide. She claims that while her daughter had been a bit troublesome as of late that she was not the kind of person to commit suicide. A short time later, after being called by the family’s butler, the patriarch of the Christopher family arrives home and quickly becomes distraught over the death of his daughter. When told of the theory that his daughter has committed suicide he too claims that it is not something his daughter would do.

The police tell the group that they have no further questions for them and that they’re free to go. The Christopher’s are still distraught over the death of their only daughter. As most of the group goes to leave, a priest whom the group assumes is from the church the Christopher’s go to, arrives to console the family. Ginger who has lingered longer than the rest of the group happens overhears the priest dodging the question of burying Jennifer on holy ground.

Taylor drives her motorcycle around the corner from the Christopher’s estate, parking it where she thinks it will draw the attention of the others. She does not think that four people who all have connections to the supernal were brought together by mere happenstance so she wants to discuss the evidence she’s discovered with the others. Randal takes no notices of Taylor where she’s stationed and heads back to his shop to tend his garden. Drake on the other hand decides to pull over and in the process his car manages to stall. They talk briefly and agree that something is up. Drake tells Taylor to call him if anything pops up.

Drake goes to report what he’s seen to his mentor Leland Merriweather. During the conversation Leland seems somewhat distracted but he is known for that. He does chide his apprentice for spending so much time viewing the world through is third eye and not enough time looking for other clues. When Drake tells Leland that he noticed about Catherine Christopher, the two begin a discussion around who might have committed the crimes. Drake suggests that William Christopher could have used mind magic on his wife. Leland disagrees and is more suspicious of Randal because of his ties to the courts of Faerie. The two continue their discussion, coming up with a few suspects but no firm conclusions.

Ginger is still convinced that her friend Jennifer Christopher did not commit suicide. She decides to sneak back onto the Christopher’s property and take another look around where Jennifer’s body was found. She remembers finding a trail of footsteps that suddenly disappeared and hopes to determine what happened. Ginger again finds the tracks and this time at the end she finds one of the small folks. She and the small faerie get off on the wrong foot and Ginger manages to capture it. She calls Taylor hoping that the young mechanic knows what the creature she captured is. She holds the poor young faerie until Taylor arrives. She manages to find out that the creatures name is Pin and gives him her name.

Upon arrival, Taylor is able to figure out that the faerie is a pixie. When they first attempt to question the faerie, he is reluctant to talk but they’re soon able to bribe the pixie with Timbits. It seems that the pixie is fond of the sugary treats. They are able to find out that the pixie was waiting to see if anything comes out what he believes is a portal to the Nevernever (which leads to place near the territory of the Winter Court). He doesn’t know what opened the portal to the Nevernever but was able to sense the portal’s opening. Ginger and Taylor realize that they need more information so they leave Pin watching (for 24 hours) the location of the portal while they go to meet up with Drake. While chatting in a coffee shop waiting for Drake, Taylor and Ginger realize that they have both had an encounter with the Church of Alientology. They begin to suspect that Jennifer may have had an encounter with them at all. Jennifer was the one who dragged Ginger to a rave involving the cult and had a pamphlet about it in her car.

They meet up with Drake at a park not far from the Christopher’s estate. They fill Drake in on what they have discovered and drag him back to where Pin is waiting to investigate further.

After Drake, Taylor and Ginger discover that the person who killed Jennifer Christopher came from or escaped to the Nevernever they decide to split up. Ginger decides that she needs to do a few things on her own. Drake and Taylor decide to seek out Randal for his knowledge of the Fae.

Taylor attempts to contact Randal by phone but gets no answer. Drake looks up Canter, R in the phone book and gets three addresses. Rather than taking the time to investigate each of the addresses Randal calls upon magic. He casts a tracking spell to help them find where Randal lives. He and Taylor hop on her bike speeding towards Randal’s home. Taylor has a difficult time staying on the road with Drake trying to keep control of his spell and touch her inappropriately at the same time. They soon make it to the quiet lower middle class neighbourhood that Randal lives in.

The two pull up to Randal’s house, with his truck parked in the driveway, without noticing that they’re being followed. Just as they’re walking up Randal’s drive way they’re fired upon by a couple of thugs. The thugs miss with their first shot and Drake manages to put up a mystical shield deflecting a second bullet into the tire of Randal’s truck. Taylor calls upon the powers granted to her by Loam to hyper boil the liquids in the thugs’ car making a quick getaway impossible. Drake’s shield drops and thugs capitalize shooting him in the leg leaving a nasty wound. Using his body as a shield Drake attempts to drag Taylor to the safety of Randal’s backyard.

Up until this now Randal has been watching the fight from the window of his home. He now wades into the fray by grabbing a sledge hammer from the back of his truck and pins the two thugs to the ground. Then Taylor manages to blind one of the thugs by freezing his eyes shut. At this point in time the thugs surrender realizing they can’t win the fight.

Realizing that the police are probably on this way Drake takes the time to investigate the thugs’ car. In the car he finds a bag containing a roll of money, a knife and some clothes. A while after Randal looks at the contents of the bag discovering a piece of paper with the names Taylor Hayworth, Randal Carter, Ginger Baker and Drake Beasley written on it.

Randal takes the opportunity to interrogate his captive thugs. He uses all his powers of intimidation to wring information out of the thugs. He uses all his strength to slam the sledgehammer down beside their head in hopes that it will loosen their tongues. He manages to discover that the thugs’ names are John Korman and Roger Donne. Randal’s interrogation also reveals that they were sent by Anton Lokosic to get rid of them.

At this point the police arrive and take the thugs into the custody. They question the Randal, Drake and Taylor who manage to convince them that they’re innocent bystanders. The police then take Drake and his “girlfriend” Taylor to the hospital to have his leg looked after. While there he almost kills a man by short circuiting the life supporting keeping him alive. It isn’t until the next afternoon that Drake is released from hospital.

The group decides that once they’ve had time to rest the four of them need to talk…

Nevernever tell a fairy your true name

Characters Present

Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean
Taylor Hayworth – Emmisary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-Form Coyote – Marie Pascale

Randal decides begin repairing his car and tells that group that he’s available should an emergency occur. Drake is waiting to be released from the hospital after being treated for the gunshot wounds he received in his fight with Anton Lokosic’s thugs. His “girlfriend” Taylor decides to call Ginger while she waits for him to be released. She calls Ginger and fills her in on everything that occurred at Randal’s house.

When Drake is released from the hospital Taylor calls Ginger to come and pick them up. The three of them go to local pub, the Strumpet and Firkin, to discuss the events of the past several days. They discuss fact that to this point they suspect that Jennifer Christopher’s murder has been made to look like a suicide, that Catherine Christopher is under the influence of some kind of mind magic, that it seems that the Fae are somehow involved and that Anton Lokosic, a White Court Vampire, has just attempted to have the group killed.

Once all the facts are on the table the group goes into research and brainstorming mode. They pool their knowledge of White Court, Vampires that feed of emotion rather than blood, discussing the strengths and weaknesses of White Court Vampires. They know that White Court Vampires feed off emotion, they know that while they have supernatural physical capabilities they aren’t as powerful as the vampires of the other two courts and that these vampires can operate during the day. They also know that there three major branches – the Raith family (feeding off Lust), the Malovora family (feeding off Fear) and the Skavis family (feeding off pain and despair). They figure that Anton Lokosic must be connected to either the Malovora or Skavis families since the Raith family does not have much of a presence in Hamilton.

The group suspects that the Fae are connected with Jennifer Christopher’s death. Ginger and Taylor don’t know much about the Fae so Drake goes into lecture mode. Drake explains what he knows about the Fae which isn’t much considering…He tells that that they should never enter into the deals with the Fae since they’d likely come out ahead. He also tells that that should they ever going into the Fae controlled parts of the Nevernever that they should avoid eating or drinking anything. One thing that Drake forgot to tell them is that they should never tell the Fae their true name…

The group decides to venture into the Nevernever to see if they can gleam any further information regarding Jennifer’s death. Drake performs a ritual to open a portal to the Nevernever. They step into an emerald green field with rolling hills and flowers blooming. Drake, Taylor and Ginger see off in the distance an incredible beautiful redheaded women sitting on a blanket with a picnic spread out all around her. The woman looks at them and beckons them to come forth to talk to them.

The woman introduces herself as Anne and asks each member of the group their name. Ginger slips and gives the redheaded women her true name. Anne takes this as a good sign and offers to become Ginger’s fairy godmother. Drake is alarmed by this offer and goes his best to convince Ginger that she DOES NOT want to accept the offer. Ginger complains claiming that it would be cool to have a fairy godmother but Drake insists and eventually Anne’s offer is refused.

Eventually the group gets down to asking the redheaded faerie for information. Anne doesn’t give up the information easier and the information she does give up isn’t straight forward. The woman calling herself Anne eventually reveals that Anton Lokosic negotiated with her for rights to travel through her piece of the Nevernever. They also find out that he did not bring Jennifer through the Nevernever as they suspected. They aren’t able to get anything else out of the fairy before a blood rain starts to fall.

Ginger decides to pay a visit to Jennifer’s apartment. When she arrives there she is greeted by Jennifer’s roommate Liz. Liz looks like a punk in every sense of the word. She welcomes Ginger into the apartment where they discuss Jennifer’s death. Liz mentions that Jennifer had recently become infatuated with a guy named Anton Lokosic but despite that she had been growing more and more depressed. Ginger checks out Jennifer’s room and given all the other facts surrounding the death discovers the room of what could be a very disturbed woman. The girl’s room was filled with many things that indicated her world was full of pain, depression and darkness.

Drake, Taylor and Ginger decide that it is time to confront Anton Lokosic about his role in the death of Jennifer Christopher. The suspect that this confrontation may turn into a brawl so they head to Randall’s place with a bribe of beer in hand to recruit him as muscle. Figuring they didn’t come to watch the football game Randall invites them in so he can ask them what they want. They explain to him that they’re going to confront Anton Lokosic and he reluctantly agrees to go with them.

They pile into Taylor’s car and Randall’s truck and head off to the Blind Pig. The group stops before they arrive at the Blind Pig to discuss their strategy for dealing with the White Court Vampire. The group’s first instinct is to strut into the bar and start busting heads. Randall convinces them that their first instinct is probably a bad one. They eventually decide that they’re going to skulk around outside the bar and wait until Anton leaves. Then they plan on following his car long enough for Taylor to hex the car into breaking down.

The first part of the plan goes off without a hitch. Once the car fails Anton pulls over to the side of the road, gets out of his car and pulls out his cell phone to call for help. The group quickly gets out of their cars as they pull up beside him. Drake starts the confrontation by demanding answers regarding Jennifer Christopher’s death. Anton doesn’t even get a chance to answer before Randall punches him but fails to do much damage. Anton is angered by the attack and strikes at Taylor who then pops open a bottle of beer and proceeds blast Anton with it using the magic Loam his gifted her with. The magical attack leaves a pretty nasty cut in the man’s chest. Ginger quickly transforms into her coyote form…

Drake continues to ask a question regarding Jennifer’s death but Anton to respond. Randall grabs the vampire and puts him into a mighty bear hug. Rather than trying to break the grapple Anton then attempts to incite despair in Randall but the half-Yeti manages to whether his emotional attack. Taylor then sends the remaining beer up Anton’s nose causing him to sputter while trying to breathe. Ginger then slashes at Anton with her claws leaving a nasty wound.

Drake continues to talk to Anton while lashing out at him with a bolt of force. The bolt hits him but does not do a heavy amount of damage. Randal tightens his grip on the vampire busting his ribs in the process. Anton attempts to incite despair in Ginger before being taken out by another claw attack.

Once they have subdued Anton the group drags him into a nearby park to interrogate him. At first he is confident that the group doesn’t have the guts to do him further harm and refuses to give up information. When Randal starts to dig a grave for Anton his lips loosen a bit. To help his memory even further Ginger sits on his stomach and growls at him. Eventually Anton reveals that he he’d been introduced to the girl by Lester Lokosic at the Blind Pig and had accidentally killed the girl by feeding from her. He goes on to explain that for some reason his brother Lester wanted him to keep close ties on the girl and her family. In order to make it easier for him to do this (and meet with the girl) he negotiated with the Anne for permission to move through her territory in the Nevernever. He swears that he doesn’t know why his brother was interested in the girl and does not know why Catherine Christoper was under the effects of mind magic.

Once the interrogation is done Anton begs the group to let him go. This sparks of a moral quandary since Taylor wants to kill him on the spot and Randal thinks he should be handed over to some kind of authorities. While the moral debate rages between the two, Drake kills Anton with a blast of force to the head. This has everyone in the group thinking that maybe Drake is crazier then they initially thought. Randal is angry by what has occurred claiming that he never went with them to kill the man. Taylor tries to convince them that they’ve done nothing wrong since Anton was not a man but a monster. He seems unconvinced but decides not to press the argument. He is smart enough to point out that they need to get rid of the body before his death is discovered by the police. They then consign Anton Lokosic body into the mysterious hands of Loam the Dragon.

After the group consigns Anton Lokosic’s body into the hands of Loam, the Water Dragon, they clean up the mess the fight left. Taylor takes Lokosic’s Buick to a wrecker she knows who is willing to make sure the car is disposed of discretely. Once they’ve done cleaning up the mess, they decides to go home and get some rest.

They spend Saturday recovering from their ordeal. Randal goes over to his mother’s house to help her with some yard work. Taylor spends some time catching up on work at the garage and Ginger dyes her hair. Drake decides to pay a visit to Leland Merriweather for some advice.

Drake explains to Leland that they discovered that Lokosic was responsible for the death of Jennifer Christopher and reveals that he was responsible for killing Lokosic with a force bolt to the head. Leland reminds Drake to make sure to be careful regarding the target of the force bolt, because killing a human would be in violation of the First Law of Magic. Eventually Drake asks his mentor if he knows any priests that could help them ensure that Jennifer receives a proper burial. Leland directs his protégé to Father Patrick O’Rourke at the Cathedral of the Christ the King.

On Saturday evening, the four heroes meet up at The Strumpet and Firkin pub for drinks. Drake comes clean about the time he spent in Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital so that they can better understand why he killed Lokosic. Randal asks about the White Council and their importance. Drake proceeds to explain that the White Council is the governing body for Wizards and that the Wardens are their police force. This leads to Drake stumbling through an explanation of the Laws of Magic. His explanation of The Seventh Law of Magic did a good job of confusing the group. Eventually at the end of the night Drake gets around to telling the group that they need to see Father O’Rourke to ensure that Jennifer gets a proper burial.

At one point during the night a drink is sent to the table for Drake. The waitress who brought the drink reveals that it was sent by an average looking blond. Drake saunters over the table to speak with the girl. The girl introduces herself as Alisha and proceeds to flirt with Drake. At the end of the night she kisses him and gives him her phone number. The two eventually go on a date where she claims to have the ability to see ghosts after Drake claims he’s a paranormal psychologist.

Drake, Taylor, Randal and Ginger decide to go to Sunday mass at the Cathedral of the Christ the King. When the mass concludes, Drake approaches the priest who gave the sermon to ask about Father O’Rourke. The young priest who introduces himself as Father Jonathan points to a confessional. Drake goes into the confessional and confesses his sin of killing a vampire. This prompts priest to invite Drake to accompany him into a back room to talk. The story of Jennifer’s death at the hands of the Anton Lokosic comes out. Ginger explains to Father O’Rourke that as a final gesture of respect to Jennifer, she would like to ensure that the girl gets a proper burial. The priest agrees to help (and possibly provide help in the future) and writes a letter for Ginger to give to Catherine Christopher.

Ginger gives the letter to Catherine Christopher. When she reads the priest’s letter indicating that the church will bury her daughter on consecrated ground, she breaks out in tears of joy. She invites the group to Jennifer’s funeral which will be conducted by Father O’Rourke.

Several days pass after the funeral of Jennifer Christopher. The group goes back to their “normal” everyday lives. Then one day Randal gets a letter in the mail. When he opens the letter he sees four tickets to Friday night’s Hamilton Bulldogs game and a note that says, “Come and bring you four friends with you, Uncle Murray”. This letter worries Randal because he doesn’t know of any Uncle Murray and because the author of the letter seemed to know about the others.

Randal calls Drake up for help with the problem. Drake invites Randal to come over to his place which is located in an upscale condo development in downtown Hamilton. Drake’s place looks like the home of a bachelor who just moved with the exception that it is devoid of technology. Randal is shocked to find out that Drake is forced to live much of his life without the benefit of technology.

Randal quickly cuts to the chase and shows the letter to Drake. Drake examines the letter and can’t find anything unusual. He and Randal discuss who Murray might be. Drake suggests that maybe Uncle Murray is in fact Randal’s uncle. Randal rejects that idea claiming there he has no uncles and certainly none named Murray.

Randal tries to change the topic by suggesting that they contact Ginger and Taylor since it seems the letter was directed at them as well. Randal calls the two and invites them over to Drake’s place. When they arrive they both make quips inquiring about how Drake lives without technology. The four discuss the letter and despite Randal’s object decide to go to the hockey game. Drake gives them another lecture on what he knows about the Fae before they decide to break up for the evening. They all agree to meet up at the Strumpet and Firkin for dinner before going to the hockey game.

When Friday night rolls around the quartet meet up as planned at the [[The Strumpet and Firkin| Strumpet and Firkin]. For the most part the group does not discuss the upcoming hockey game. The night starts off with an order of wings and plenty of beer. The night’s conversation begins with Taylor and Ginger interrogating Drake for information regarding his date with Alisha. Drake stammers out a reply and the ladies insist that they need to meet her in the near future. The group seems to be drinking heavily and Taylor realizes that she has started to get really drunk. She then decides to a cast a spell to block the effects alcohol will have on her. The group eventually heads to Copps Colisuem for the hockey game.

They enjoy the first period of the hockey game before a large hairy man dressed in a 1950-60s style suit joins the group. The man introduces himself as Murray and tries to give a warm greeting to Randal. He spends some time convincing Randal that he in fact his Uncle. He eventually gets around to asking for Randal’s help in finding his daughter (Randal’s cousin) Jean. Randal initially refused to help his Uncle Murray still doubting that he’s related to the Yeti and his daughter. In a last ditch effort to get Randal to believe him Murray pulls out some pictures taken of Randal and Jean when they were babies. At this point Randal and the rest of the group reluctantly agree to help Uncle Murray in exchange for a favour.

The group then questions Uncle Murray about the disappearance of his daughter Jean. He proceeds to explain that Jean went missing about two weeks ago after a night out at a nightclub. The group ask him what nightclub and he can’t recall mumbling something about a “Club 50 something…”. Ginger and Taylor in her drunken haze immediate suspect that the club he’s mentioning is Warehouse 51. When questions Uncle Murray says that he didn’t do any investigation because he doesn’t have enough information and because of certain restrictions in place against his involvement.

Uncle Murray reluctantly answers some of Randal’s questions regarding his father. He tries to explain that under the Unseelie Accords what Randal’s father Mickey did wasn’t illegal. Randal does not take this excuse well growling that what Mickey did was wrong and that it is illegal in this world. Eventually the two realize that they are at an impasse and drop the subject. The next day Randal goes to his mother to ask about her relationship with Mickey and Uncle Murray. She reveals that in fact that Uncle Murray used to be quite involved in their lives. The Yeti used to help her out around the house in an attempt to make up for what his brother did. He mentions that Uncle Murray and his wife (and willing partner) Mary had a young girl named Jean. Jean used to play with Randal when the two were younger. Randal’s mother also mentions that when Randal’s true nature started to come out she asked Uncle Murray to stay way. This gives Randal a lot to think about…

Aliens and Faeries...Oh My...

Characters
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-Coyote – Marie-Pascal

The group has decided that they will help Randal’s Uncle Murray look for his lost daughter Jean. The last time he has heard from her, she was planning on going for a night on the town at Warehouse 51. They decided that the best course of action was to go to the nightclub and investigate. Ginger and Taylor have been to the nightclub before and to them the place means trouble. They also have evidence that a secretive occult group is using the nightclub as a front but are not sure what to do about it.

They know that if they’re going to fit in at the nightclub that they have to look the part. Taylor and Ginger have no problem looking like they fit in at the night club. Randal on the other hand would stick out like a sore thumb. Ginger and Taylor take it upon themselves to get Randal into some stylish club wear. To say that the changeling was resistant to this effort would be a giant understatement. Eventually, the pair wear him down and get him into some leather pants with a music t-shirt on underneath.

The trio arrive at Warehouse 51 and spread out to see what they can pick up. Ginger and Taylor decided to put their social skills to good use and question some of the people in the club. They soon discover that Jean Crenshaw was last seen arguing with a regular by the name of Sarah Becker. It seems Jean was sleeping with Sarah Becker’s boyfriend, Jerry Foster. Jerry was sleeping with a lot of the club’s other female regulars as well. Taylor also discovered that Jerry has a reputation as a man-whore, a fantastic dancer with a pretty face and a beautiful voice.

After a little more digging, they find out that Sarah has gotten into a number of fights at the club recently. She has garnered quite a reputation as the club’s Queen Bee. Taylor discovered that in recent weeks, Sarah was seen arguing with several other patrons and that those patrons weren’t seen or heard from until the next week if at all. When chatting up one of the bartenders, Ginger discovers that the previous week, Sarah had been seen arguing with Jerry and that Jerry has not been seen since then.

Ginger decides to make a bold move and attempt to get a reaction from Sarah and to try to identify if she was human. She walks up to the guy that Sarah is talking with and starts to flirt with him. This angers Sarah and she tells Ginger to hit the road. Ginger refuses to obey and no one is hurt in the ensuing scuffle but Sarah does come away with a piece strand of Ginger’s hair. Ginger’s first instinct is to get the hair back but then she notices something going on with Randal on a balcony above her…

While the ladies are doing the talking, Randal takes a walk around to see if he can notice anything. He is approached by a smooth talking man who introduces himself as DJ Apothos. He man attempts to work his magic on Randal with promises of satisfaction, fulfillment and a chance to connect with that which is beyond the bounds of this dimension…if Randal only allows himself to be open to the possibilities. He hands Randal a pamphlet and tells him that a group of truth seekers is meeting on Wednesday night at the club and that they’d like him to come. Randal politely refuses the invitation and proceeds to continue exploring the club.

Randal finds a perch on an upper balcony that gives him a nice view of the rest of the club. From that vantage point, Randal was able to quietly observe the altercation between Ginger and Sarah. He is so engrossed watching the action below him that he does not notice the supernatural darkness creeping towards him. Randal is attacked out of those inky shadows by a creature that he has never seen before. Ginger notices the creature getting ready to attack Randal and rushes to his aid. The creature gets the jump on Randal but he soon (with the help of Ginger) beats the creature to death.

Soon after the fight, Taylor joins the group while they attempt to figure out what attacked them. Randal dumps the body into a giant garbage can and smuggles it out to his truck. The group piles into the truck and heads out to pay Drake a visit.

Taylor and Randal arrive at the condo complex where Drake lives with the body in hand. After the usual trouble communicating with Drake through the intercom they make their way up to his place. They arrive to find him in the middle of reading a book loaned to him by his mentor. Randal enters the apartment carrying the green garbage can containing the deteriorating remains of the creature he killed at Warehouse 51.

Drake is surprised by Randal’s “delivery” and tells them to take it into the bathroom so that they can examine it. The trio cram into the bathroom where Randal dumps the remains of the creature into the bathtub. Drake takes one look at the remains of the creature and determines that it is a Hobb. He then explains to the group that Hobbs are faerie shock troopers usually associated with the Winter Court. He goes on to note that it appears as though the one that Randal killed is associated with the Summer Court.

This leads the group to suspect that the creature was specifically sent after Randal or that the Summer Court is involved in the disappearance. The group then discusses the possibility that elements of the Summer Court are working with the Church of Alientology. The Church of Alientology is a group of people who believe that Aliens and have great plans for humanity. Drake tells the tale to the group about how he encountered them a few years back at Warehouse 51. He goes on to explain that he knows they use Warehouse 51 as a front but is not sure how.

The person they believe is responsible for the disappearance of Jean and several other regulars of Warehouse 51 is Sarah Becker. When Taylor describes her, Drake does a double take because he knows her. She was also a patient at the psychiatric hospital that treated Drake. He explains that he knows she’s was diagnosed as paranoid in addition to having a few other issues. He does not know if her mind was affected by the White Court Vampires that were feeding on the other patients in the hospital. The group decides to add the White Court to their list of suspects. The group realizes that it is late and break up to get some sleep.

When she wakes up the next morning Taylor decides to use the internet to look into Sarah Becker and Jerry Foster. Her search reveals that Sarah Becker had a definite reputation as a wild child and is a known figure in Hamilton’s party scene. She also finds Sarah’s Facebook page which reveals that the girl is a New Ager, a member of McMaster University’s Alternative Faiths Group and works at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza hotel. She also uncovers a blog post written by Angela Hammond, who has since gone missing, about a time when she’d argued with Sarah over claims that Sarah could get any guy to do what-ever she wanted (even gay guys) because she had a magical talent. The group begins to suspect that she may have some magical talent.

The story of Jerry Foster is even more interesting. It seems that he has a reputation as a skilled singer and has known to do live performances all over Hamilton. The night that Taylor went to Warehouse 51 he was supposed to perform at the Neutral Grounds Coffeehouse but did not show up. She finds several music review articles in alternative newspapers (like ECHO) and blog posts about his talents. She also manages to uncover an article from about 15-20 years ago about Jerry Foster (at that time a 6 year old boy) being found in the forest near the Devil’s Punchbowl. The Devil’s Punchbowl is a place rumoured to have connections to the supernatural.

The group decides that they need to get closer to Sarah Baker in order to further their investigation. They know that on Sunday’s she goes to a meeting of McMaster’s Alternative Faiths Group (AFG) at the campus student centre. As she’s leaving the meeting Randal and Taylor take up observation posts a safe distance away while Drake gets close enough to use his wizard’s senses. As he walks past her Drake definitely gets the sense that she’s got some magical talent. The group tails her to her apartment in a relatively quiet Hamilton neighbourhood. Taylor then has a brilliant idea and proceeds to break into Sarah’s car to steal some of the girl’s hairs for Drake to use in a thaumaturgical ritual.

The group travel’s back to Drake’s apartment so that he can do the ritual. He prepares for the ritual by lighting candles and creating a magical circle using Dead Sea salt. He then places the silver bowl of clean water in front of him and begins gathering up the magical energies needed for his spell calling out to ancient gods of magic/divination. Then at the end of the ritual he puts the Sarah’s hair into the water and an image forms. The image shows Sarah in the middle of her own magic circle with candles burning all around her tying the hair she stole from Ginger to a pentagram before taping it to a hand drawn picture (of Ginger) then chanting in a language he doesn’t understand before stabbing the picture with a knife. (NOTE: This assessment reveals that Sarah has the aspect ‘Mind Magic Gets Me What I Want’.

Characters

Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-coyote – Marie-Pascal

From the top of a nearby building the elves launch a flight of arrows in the direction of Randal and Drake. Both men manage to dodge out of the path of the arrows.

Ginger transforms into a coyote while racing up the fire-escape stairs to the roof of the building to confront the elves. She hacks into one of the faeries with her razor sharp claws and teeth. Drawing blood with her initial attack she uses the full power of her were-form to pin the elf to the ground and then rips the elf’s throat out leaving killing him almost instantly.

After dodging the elves’ initial attack Drake quaffs a potion that turns him into an unkindness of ravens. When he reforms he’s on the roof behind the elves using a force attack to knock an elf to the ground and proceeds to question the downed elf. The rushed interrogation of the elf reveals that they were sent by a local Fairy Lady (who Drake believes is Annabelle) because she believes that Drake killed her son Jerry.

Randal, after recovering from his attempts to dodge the arrows, goes on the offensive. The back of his truck yields a sledge hammer for a weapon and a spare tire for a shield. Randal charges towards the building that houses the elves using the tire to block incoming arrows. Frustrated at the constant barrage of arrows Randal hurls the tire at his attackers knocking the head off one.

Taylor knocks over an freezer full of ice and uses the frozen water to work her magic. She narrowly misses a barrage of ice aimed at one of the elves. While this is happening she notices a car pulling into the far end of the motel’s parking lot.

The top on the silver convertible comes down and Sarah Becker gets out of the car in an attempt to make a haughty entrance. She points her staff at Randal focusing magical energy into a vicious mental attack spell. With a mighty effort the changeling shrugs off the attack. Randal bellows in anger and his football charge knocks the sorceress on her back. Randal proceeds to pummel the mad wizard with powerful blows.

Meanwhile, after leaping from the building Ginger’s inhuman speed allows her to make up the distance to Sarah a matter of seconds. She also launches into Sarah with a series of devastating attacks using tooth and claw.

Taylor uses the distraction caused by Randal and Ginger’s attacks to disable the getaway car without anyone noticing. Then she smashes the car door into Sarah’s back knocking her over and her staff sprawling.

Drake holds his own while trading spells with Sarah. He uses his friends’ attacks to make up for the fact that she’s more powerful than him. Drake’s is careful not to unleash too much power lest his spells kill.

The combined might of Randal, Taylor, Ginger and Drake overwhelm her. Sarah is brought to her knees begging for mercy and claiming that she never meant to kill anyone. In a desperate attempt to have her life spared she reveals that she was trained by a woman named De Lacy and that members of the Church of Alientology promised that things would be all right. She continues to plead for her life as the companions await for Rachel Weston to deliver the harsh justice of the White Council.
