Characters

Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-coyote – Marie-Pascal

Having stopped the clock with 30 seconds left the group tries to decide what to do next. They realize that while the clock is stopped the otherworldly assailant has stopped attacking Tabby. Upon further examination they discover that that attack has not stopped but slowed down to the point that there sense can’t detect the fight.

With the immediate threat of Tabby being killed in his fight with the otherworldly creature the group decides to turn its attentions towards Leland. They know that he may have more information about why Tabby and the creature were fighting. They also suspect that he was involved in the creation of the pact that David Jones entered into so many years ago. A pact that may be behind the mystery the group is currently investigating.

They return to Leland’s apartment to see if they can’t discover any more clues about his disappearance. Upon examining the apartment they realize that whoever broke in the apartment only wanted Leland and did not take any of the valuable magic items in his apartment. Drake is relieved to find some of Leland’s most treasured items are still in the apartment. He uses that item to cast a tracking spell that will lead the group to the older wizard.

The group tracks Leland through the city to a hotel in downtown Hamilton. They discover that Leland is being held captive in a room on the hotel’s 13th floor. Ginger volunteers to take a closer look and try to determine who has taken Drake’s mentor prisoner.

Even without the benefits that her were-form provides her Ginger is a very sneaky person. She manages to approach the room where Leland is being held captive and even gets a peek inside. She notes that there are about 4 people guarding Leland. At first she can’t understand what the kidnappers are saying to each other because they’re speaking in Spanish. She does hear Bram Stokers Dracula playing in English in the background and catches one of the guards saying, “Damn that Stoker guy had it right when he wrote about those Black Court guys.” Her scouting done Ginger returns to tell the group what she discovered.

Upon explain to the group what she saw Drake immediately realizes that Leland’s captives are Red Court Vampires. Now all they have to do is formulate a rescue plan….

Game Plan - Session Summary #3 - A Lopsided Affair
This game is starting to become a blow out

Characters

Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-coyote – Marie-Pascal

The group takes their seats hoping to enjoy the game. Randal takes the time to peruse his David Jones’ journals to see if he can’t find any clues that give them insight into the currently mystery. He does find a few entries that indicate that the dying David Jones tried to find a buyer for his team that would keep the terrible pact that he had made. The former Ti-Cats owners even writes that he tried to convince Leland Merriweather to purchase the team but the wizard lacked the means to do so. When Randal mentions this to Drake the young wizard is surprised for he’s always known his mentor as being a poor man.

The game starts at the Ti-Cats score an early touchdown. When this happens Randal and Drake notice a spiritual tiger over the scoreboard. The spiritual tiger seems to be taking wounds every time the Tiger-Cats score. The two men point this out to their female companions. Taylor and Ginger can’t see the spiritual tiger and think the men must be drunk.

Drake is overwhelmed by what he sees when he opens his eye and glance in the direction of the spiritual tiger. He seems the tiger locked in a deadly struggle with a giant hand demonic hand. The hand seems to be coming up from nowhere to wound the spiritual tiger every time the Ti-Cats score. For now the demonic hand seems to be winning the struggle. When Drake manages to close his eye he is flush and drained. Randal quickly moves to help the haggard wizard to his seat.

Drake suggests that the group investigate the spiritual tiger’s battle. Ginger and Taylor still don’t believe that the spiritual tiger exists so he takes only Randal with him. The pair sneak onto the giant score board towering at one end of the stadium. Just as then begin their investigation into the spiritual tiger’s struggle they are accosted non-descript man wearing a pair of black slacks, a black turtleneck and a black wind breaker.

The man warns the pair away claiming that they are meddling in matters that are of no concern to them. He informs them that the stadium’s defender Tabby is fighting a battle that he will not win. He claims that the guardian has failed and the destruction that will occur is inevitable. Drake tells the man that they’re not about to let cryptic threats scare them off.

The man spits at Drake hitting him with a stream of acid that burning his face. Drake recoils from the demonic assassin’s attack and throws up a magical shield to protect him. Randal moves quickly and strikes the demonic assassin with a vicious blow. From their vantage point in the stand Taylor and Ginger notice the brawl and rush to join their friends.

The demon’s eyes flare up in anger as he misses Randal with a terrible blow. His fist puts a large rent in the metal holding the scoreboard up. Drake goes on the offensive blasting the demon with a strong bolt of force. Randal charges the demon knocking him off his feet and hard into the metal scaffolding. Ginger continues to rush towards the fight with Taylor followed shortly behind (after snatching some liquid to use in her magic).

Randal barely manages to dodge another vicious attack from the demon. Drake than launches another bolt of power into the demon. The bolt is so powerful that Drake has difficulty in keeping it under his control and his amulet of protection is blown off in the casting. Randal counter attacks sending the demon off the scaffolding into group below.

Ginger arrives on the scene just in time to see the demon come crashing into the ground. A few second later Taylor joins her companions and acts quickly to knock the demon off balance with a blast of icy cola (care of her water magic). The demon is sent careening into a metal barrier and takes some time to come to his defense. The group takes that as an opportunity to beat a hasty retreat before security arrives on the scene and begins asking questions.

The Ti-Cats continue to pummel the Argonauts mirroring the pummeling Tabby is receiving at the hands of his attacker. Randal takes Drake to the washroom to tend to his wounds and ladies return to their seats. Once everyone is back at their seats the group decides that they should call upon Drake’s mentor since he seems to be tangled up in this affair as well. Drake rushes off hoping to contact his mentor before the end of half-time.

Drake arrives at his mentor’s rundown apartment to discover the door’s been bashed in and his mentor is missing. A cursory examination reveals Leland was dragged out of his apartment while he was sitting down to an evening meal. A quick use of thaumaturgy reveals that Leland seems to have been poisoned and dragged out the house by parties unknown. Drake rushes back to Ivor Wynn Stadium to tell the group what he has discovered.

Drake and Randal argue that their first priority should be to help Tabby fight off his attacker. Ginger and Taylor argue that they should rescue Leland. Drake points out that if “they” can grab his mentor that the four of them shouldn’t go rushing into danger. Randal points out that the Tabby seems to be losing the fight and he’ll probably be killed should the Ti-Cats win the game. The group is swayed by Randal’s argument and one of Drake’s hexes manages to turn the entire stadiums power off with 30 seconds to go….

Down on the Baker Farm

Characters

Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-coyote – Marie-Pascal

After dispensing with the serious business the group decides to spend some time questioning Taylor about the Dragon in her head and Randal about his sex life. Taylor eventually opens up and tells the group about her service to Loam a Water Dragon residing in Lake Ontario. The group learns that Loam often gives her instructions by speaking in her mind. In exchange for her service the Dragon fuels the magic she wields. Despite pressure from the group Randal is reluctant to open up about his sex life. The group’s manages to make him blush with some bawdy jokes.

Jayne Basset is a Hamilton City Councilor whom William Christopher suggested would be sympathetic to the Baker’s cause. Ginger hopes that she (and Drake) can enlist the politician’s help in saving the family farm. Jayne is not what you’d expect out of a politician. She’s kind, considerate and has a genuine desire to work for the people. She tells Ginger that she’d be glad to help her out and outlines the options that remain. She tells Ginger that she intends to filibuster on the issue giving the Baker’s more time. She also give’s Ginger the contact information from some environmental groups that may also be willing to help. She suggests that the council might be convinced to stop the purchase if they discovered that the environmental assessment had missed something. The councilor willing provides Ginger a copy of the environmental impact to look over.

Ginger asks Randal to look over the environment assessment since he’s the only one in the group with knowledge of such things. Randaldetermines that they might be able to convince people destroying the habitat of the local coyote pack (Ginger’s family) will drive the coyotes into the city. He suggests that it might help their story if Ginger is seen wandering the streets as a coyote. They group retires for the evening with a plan of action and looking forward to Saturday’s Ti-Cats game.

As if the excitement of having tickets to the game isn’t enough Randal discovers that some of the former Ti-Cats owner David Jones memorabilia is being auctioned off before kick-off. He drags the group to the auction with hope of picking something up. When they get there they discover a treasure trove of Ti-Cats memorabilia available.

Randal’s eye is drawn to a stack of personal journals written by the deceased. While trying perusing the journals to see if they’re something worth buying he reads passages that indicate that the man kept the Ti-Cats from winning on purpose. Randal takes the group aside to convince them that the journals might be of value and they should pool their resources to purchase them. The group agrees but they soon discover that there is another person interested in the journals…

When the bidding starts they discover that man flipping a quarter (or at least it appears to be) keeps on outbidding Randal. As a result he manages to purchase the first two batches of journals. Before the third batch of journals goes on sale the group sends Ginger over to the man hoping to distract him so that that he’ll miss the bidding and they can purchase the journals. Their plan succeeds and they’re able to purchase the journals.

Ginger manages to distract the man long enough for the group to purchase the last batch of the journals. As she does that the man drops the coin he’s flipping at her feet. She picks up the coin at her feet intending to give it back to the man but upon noticing that the coin in fact silver she hesitates. The man notices her hesitation and introduces himself as Dauriel. After a brief conversation he insists that he has no use for the coin and that she should keep it.

An excited Ginger shows the group her new found silver coin. Drake informs her that the coin is over 2000 years old and is extremely valuable. Much to his horror he also recognizes that the coin is a Blackened Denarius. A fact that he decides to keep hidden from the rest of the group…

At the same time that Jean’s body was washed upon the shores of Lake Ontario so did the front page of the Hamilton from December 5th, 1973. Randal reads the page and notices several interesting articles. The first is trumpeting the Ti-Cats’ Grey Cup win at Ivor Wynn Stadium (something they haven’t done since). The second article talks about a mysterious fire that broke out on the shores of Lake Ontario. The third article is partially damaged but mentions the murder of a J Meriwether. After some discussion Randal, Drake and Taylor decide that the page is some kind of sign and that they should each investigate one of the articles.

Randal immediately volunteers to investigate the article about Tiger Cat’s Grey Cup victory. When the football fan investigates the article he doesn’t find much that stands out. Randal finds a news article notes that the Ti-Cats victory was followed by almost 30 years of futility. The author of the article points out to the fact that the current season is one of the best the franchise has had since that time. He credits Jennifer Hammond’s purchase of the team after former owner David Jones’ untimely demise for the franchise’s turnaround. The article then goes to predict that the Ti-Cats will win the Grey Cup.

The article about the fire that broke out on the shores of Lake Ontario is interesting because it states that the fire department was never able to determine what caused the fire. Upon further investigation Taylor discovers that eye witnesses claim the fire did not break out on shore but instead the lake itself was on fire. The most popular explanation of these eye witness accounts was that an oil spill caught on fire. During the course of her investigation Taylor gets the impression that Loam wants to tell her something but holding back.

Drake quickly determines that the person murdered was a local businessman named John Meriwether. He discovers that John Meriwether was found stabbed to death on the shores of Lake Ontario and that the person responsible was never found so the crime remains unsolved. Drake suspects that John is the brother that Leland Merriweather has hinted at but never confirmed during the course of their lessons. Leland never told his protégé that his brother had been murdered.

Meanwhile Ginger is back at the farm visiting with her family and discovers that her family is in danger of losing their home. Her brother Marc sits down and informs Ginger that the City of Hamilton has told him that they intend to use the eminent domain law to purchase the family farm. Property developer Jennifer Hammond intends to use the land to build several malls and big box stores. She’s also offered to build a medical clinic to make the development plan more palatable. Marc outlines how he’s gone to lawyers, community groups and politicians with his family’s problems. These people are sympathetic but tell Marc that there isn’t much that can be done.

Ginger visits the office of William Christopher the lawyer handling the family’s case to discuss her family’s plight. She pleads with William Christopher to do what he can to help the Baker family. The lawyer is sympathetic and informs her that he’s doing all he can to help. He tells her that there environmental impact assessment revealed nothing he could use to block the development and that all the motions he’s filed to stop to purchase of the land have been rejected. The only way that the Baker family farm can be saved is to convince Jennifer Hammond to drop the project.

As she’s leaving William asks Ginger to give the group a token of his appreciation for their help investigating his daughter’s death. He hands her an envelope containing 4 tickets to the upcoming CFL Eastern Division Championship and the Grey Cup – both taking place in Hamilton. The opportunity to go to these two games is met with great excitement!

The next evening Randal, Drake, Taylor and Ginger decide to meet up at The Strumpet and Firkin for drinks and to fill each other in on what has transpired. They resolve to do all they can to help save the Baker family farm. They also agree to enjoy the upcoming football game.

Don't Lose Your Head...

Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean

Ginger Baker – Were-coyote – Marie-Pascal

From the top of a nearby building the elves launch a flight of arrows in the direction of Randal and Drake. Both men manage to dodge out of the path of the arrows.

Ginger transforms into a coyote while racing up the fire-escape stairs to the roof of the building to confront the elves. She hacks into one of the faeries with her razor sharp claws and teeth. Drawing blood with her initial attack she uses the full power of her were-form to pin the elf to the ground and then rips the elf’s throat out leaving killing him almost instantly.

After dodging the elves’ initial attack Drake quaffs a potion that turns him into an unkindness of ravens. When he reforms he’s on the roof behind the elves using a force attack to knock an elf to the ground and proceeds to question the downed elf. The rushed interrogation of the elf reveals that they were sent by a local Fairy Lady (who Drake believes is Annabelle) because she believes that Drake killed her son Jerry.

Randal, after recovering from his attempts to dodge the arrows, goes on the offensive. The back of his truck yields a sledge hammer for a weapon and a spare tire for a shield. Randal charges towards the building that houses the elves using the tire to block incoming arrows. Frustrated at the constant barrage of arrows Randal hurls the tire at his attackers knocking the head off one.

Taylor knocks over an freezer full of ice and uses the frozen water to work her magic. She narrowly misses a barrage of ice aimed at one of the elves. While this is happening she notices a car pulling into the far end of the motel’s parking lot.

The top on the silver convertible comes down and Sarah Becker gets out of the car in an attempt to make a haughty entrance. She points her staff at Randal focusing magical energy into a vicious mental attack spell. With a mighty effort the changeling shrugs off the attack. Randal bellows in anger and his football charge knocks the sorceress on her back. Randal proceeds to pummel the mad wizard with powerful blows.

Meanwhile, after leaping from the building Ginger’s inhuman speed allows her to make up the distance to Sarah a matter of seconds. She also launches into Sarah with a series of devastating attacks using tooth and claw.

Taylor uses the distraction caused by Randal and Ginger’s attacks to disable the getaway car without anyone noticing. Then she smashes the car door into Sarah’s back knocking her over and her staff sprawling.

Drake holds his own while trading spells with Sarah. He uses his friends’ attacks to make up for the fact that she’s more powerful than him. Drake’s is careful not to unleash too much power lest his spells kill.

The combined might of Randal, Taylor, Ginger and Drake overwhelm her. Sarah is brought to her knees begging for mercy and claiming that she never meant to kill anyone. In a desperate attempt to have her life spared she reveals that she was trained by a woman named De Lacy and that members of the Church of Alientology promised that things would be all right. She continues to plead for her life as the companions await for Rachel Weston to deliver the harsh justice of the White Council.

Dig deeper into the world of a jealous woman...

Characters
Drake Beasley – Apprentice Wizard – Sean
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura

Taylor and Randal arrive at the condo complex where Drake lives with the body in hand. After the usual trouble communicating with Drake through the intercom they make their way up to his place. They arrive to find him in the middle of reading a book loaned to him by his mentor. Randal enters the apartment carrying the green garbage can containing the deteriorating remains of the creature he killed at Warehouse 51.

Drake is surprised by Randal’s “delivery” and tells them to take it into the bathroom so that they can examine it. The trio cram into the bathroom where Randal dumps the remains of the creature into the bathtub. Drake takes one look at the remains of the creature and determines that it is a Hobb. He then explains to the group that Hobbs are faerie shock troopers usually associated with the Winter Court. He goes on to note that it appears as though the one that Randal killed is associated with the Summer Court.

This leads the group to suspect that the creature was specifically sent after Randal or that the Summer Court is involved in the disappearance. The group then discusses the possibility that elements of the Summer Court are working with the Church of Alientology. The Church of Alientology is a group of people who believe that Aliens and have great plans for humanity. Drake tells the tale to the group about how he encountered them a few years back at Warehouse 51. He goes on to explain that he knows they use Warehouse 51 as a front but is not sure how.

The person they believe is responsible for the disappearance of Jean and several other regulars of Warehouse 51 is Sarah Becker. When Taylor describes her, Drake does a double take because he knows her. She was also a patient at the psychiatric hospital that treated Drake. He explains that he knows she’s was diagnosed as paranoid in addition to having a few other issues. He does not know if her mind was affected by the White Court Vampires that were feeding on the other patients in the hospital. The group decides to add the White Court to their list of suspects. The group realizes that it is late and break up to get some sleep.

When she wakes up the next morning Taylor decides to use the internet to look into Sarah Becker and Jerry Foster. Her search reveals that Sarah Becker had a definite reputation as a wild child and is a known figure in Hamilton’s party scene. She also finds Sarah’s Facebook page which reveals that the girl is a New Ager, a member of McMaster University’s Alternative Faiths Group and works at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza hotel. She also uncovers a blog post written by Angela Hammond, who has since gone missing, about a time when she’d argued with Sarah over claims that Sarah could get any guy to do what-ever she wanted (even gay guys) because she had a magical talent. The group begins to suspect that she may have some magical talent.

The story of Jerry Foster is even more interesting. It seems that he has a reputation as a skilled singer and has known to do live performances all over Hamilton. The night that Taylor went to Warehouse 51 he was supposed to perform at the Neutral Grounds Coffeehouse but did not show up. She finds several music review articles in alternative newspapers (like ECHO) and blog posts about his talents. She also manages to uncover an article from about 15-20 years ago about Jerry Foster (at that time a 6 year old boy) being found in the forest near the Devil’s Punchbowl. The Devil’s Punchbowl is a place rumoured to have connections to the supernatural.

The group decides that they need to get closer to Sarah Baker in order to further their investigation. They know that on Sunday’s she goes to a meeting of McMaster’s Alternative Faiths Group (AFG) at the campus student centre. As she’s leaving the meeting Randal and Taylor take up observation posts a safe distance away while Drake gets close enough to use his wizard’s senses. As he walks past her Drake definitely gets the sense that she’s got some magical talent. The group tails her to her apartment in a relatively quiet Hamilton neighbourhood. Taylor then has a brilliant idea and proceeds to break into Sarah’s car to steal some of the girl’s hairs for Drake to use in a thaumaturgical ritual.

The group travel’s back to Drake’s apartment so that he can do the ritual. He prepares for the ritual by lighting candles and creating a magical circle using Dead Sea salt. He then places the silver bowl of clean water in front of him and begins gathering up the magical energies needed for his spell calling out to ancient gods of magic/divination. Then at the end of the ritual he puts the Sarah’s hair into the water and an image forms. The image shows Sarah in the middle of her own magic circle with candles burning all around her tying the hair she stole from Ginger to a pentagram before taping it to a hand drawn picture (of Ginger) then chanting in a language he doesn’t understand before stabbing the picture with a knife. (NOTE: This assessment reveals that Sarah has the aspect ‘Mind Magic Gets Me What I Want’.

Aliens and Faeries...Oh My...

Characters
Randal Carter – Half-Yeti Changeling – Mike
Taylor Hayworth – Emissary of the Water Dragon Loam – Laura
Ginger Baker – Were-Coyote – Marie-Pascal

The group has decided that they will help Randal’s Uncle Murray look for his lost daughter Jean. The last time he has heard from her, she was planning on going for a night on the town at Warehouse 51. They decided that the best course of action was to go to the nightclub and investigate. Ginger and Taylor have been to the nightclub before and to them the place means trouble. They also have evidence that a secretive occult group is using the nightclub as a front but are not sure what to do about it.

They know that if they’re going to fit in at the nightclub that they have to look the part. Taylor and Ginger have no problem looking like they fit in at the night club. Randal on the other hand would stick out like a sore thumb. Ginger and Taylor take it upon themselves to get Randal into some stylish club wear. To say that the changeling was resistant to this effort would be a giant understatement. Eventually, the pair wear him down and get him into some leather pants with a music t-shirt on underneath.

The trio arrive at Warehouse 51 and spread out to see what they can pick up. Ginger and Taylor decided to put their social skills to good use and question some of the people in the club. They soon discover that Jean Crenshaw was last seen arguing with a regular by the name of Sarah Becker. It seems Jean was sleeping with Sarah Becker’s boyfriend, Jerry Foster. Jerry was sleeping with a lot of the club’s other female regulars as well. Taylor also discovered that Jerry has a reputation as a man-whore, a fantastic dancer with a pretty face and a beautiful voice.

After a little more digging, they find out that Sarah has gotten into a number of fights at the club recently. She has garnered quite a reputation as the club’s Queen Bee. Taylor discovered that in recent weeks, Sarah was seen arguing with several other patrons and that those patrons weren’t seen or heard from until the next week if at all. When chatting up one of the bartenders, Ginger discovers that the previous week, Sarah had been seen arguing with Jerry and that Jerry has not been seen since then.

Ginger decides to make a bold move and attempt to get a reaction from Sarah and to try to identify if she was human. She walks up to the guy that Sarah is talking with and starts to flirt with him. This angers Sarah and she tells Ginger to hit the road. Ginger refuses to obey and no one is hurt in the ensuing scuffle but Sarah does come away with a piece strand of Ginger’s hair. Ginger’s first instinct is to get the hair back but then she notices something going on with Randal on a balcony above her…

While the ladies are doing the talking, Randal takes a walk around to see if he can notice anything. He is approached by a smooth talking man who introduces himself as DJ Apothos. He man attempts to work his magic on Randal with promises of satisfaction, fulfillment and a chance to connect with that which is beyond the bounds of this dimension…if Randal only allows himself to be open to the possibilities. He hands Randal a pamphlet and tells him that a group of truth seekers is meeting on Wednesday night at the club and that they’d like him to come. Randal politely refuses the invitation and proceeds to continue exploring the club.

Randal finds a perch on an upper balcony that gives him a nice view of the rest of the club. From that vantage point, Randal was able to quietly observe the altercation between Ginger and Sarah. He is so engrossed watching the action below him that he does not notice the supernatural darkness creeping towards him. Randal is attacked out of those inky shadows by a creature that he has never seen before. Ginger notices the creature getting ready to attack Randal and rushes to his aid. The creature gets the jump on Randal but he soon (with the help of Ginger) beats the creature to death.

Soon after the fight, Taylor joins the group while they attempt to figure out what attacked them. Randal dumps the body into a giant garbage can and smuggles it out to his truck. The group piles into the truck and heads out to pay Drake a visit.

Several days pass after the funeral of Jennifer Christopher. The group goes back to their “normal” everyday lives. Then one day Randal gets a letter in the mail. When he opens the letter he sees four tickets to Friday night’s Hamilton Bulldogs game and a note that says, “Come and bring you four friends with you, Uncle Murray”. This letter worries Randal because he doesn’t know of any Uncle Murray and because the author of the letter seemed to know about the others.

Randal calls Drake up for help with the problem. Drake invites Randal to come over to his place which is located in an upscale condo development in downtown Hamilton. Drake’s place looks like the home of a bachelor who just moved with the exception that it is devoid of technology. Randal is shocked to find out that Drake is forced to live much of his life without the benefit of technology.

Randal quickly cuts to the chase and shows the letter to Drake. Drake examines the letter and can’t find anything unusual. He and Randal discuss who Murray might be. Drake suggests that maybe Uncle Murray is in fact Randal’s uncle. Randal rejects that idea claiming there he has no uncles and certainly none named Murray.

Randal tries to change the topic by suggesting that they contact Ginger and Taylor since it seems the letter was directed at them as well. Randal calls the two and invites them over to Drake’s place. When they arrive they both make quips inquiring about how Drake lives without technology. The four discuss the letter and despite Randal’s object decide to go to the hockey game. Drake gives them another lecture on what he knows about the Fae before they decide to break up for the evening. They all agree to meet up at the Strumpet and Firkin for dinner before going to the hockey game.

When Friday night rolls around the quartet meet up as planned at the [[The Strumpet and Firkin| Strumpet and Firkin]. For the most part the group does not discuss the upcoming hockey game. The night starts off with an order of wings and plenty of beer. The night’s conversation begins with Taylor and Ginger interrogating Drake for information regarding his date with Alisha. Drake stammers out a reply and the ladies insist that they need to meet her in the near future. The group seems to be drinking heavily and Taylor realizes that she has started to get really drunk. She then decides to a cast a spell to block the effects alcohol will have on her. The group eventually heads to Copps Colisuem for the hockey game.

They enjoy the first period of the hockey game before a large hairy man dressed in a 1950-60s style suit joins the group. The man introduces himself as Murray and tries to give a warm greeting to Randal. He spends some time convincing Randal that he in fact his Uncle. He eventually gets around to asking for Randal’s help in finding his daughter (Randal’s cousin) Jean. Randal initially refused to help his Uncle Murray still doubting that he’s related to the Yeti and his daughter. In a last ditch effort to get Randal to believe him Murray pulls out some pictures taken of Randal and Jean when they were babies. At this point Randal and the rest of the group reluctantly agree to help Uncle Murray in exchange for a favour.

The group then questions Uncle Murray about the disappearance of his daughter Jean. He proceeds to explain that Jean went missing about two weeks ago after a night out at a nightclub. The group ask him what nightclub and he can’t recall mumbling something about a “Club 50 something…”. Ginger and Taylor in her drunken haze immediate suspect that the club he’s mentioning is Warehouse 51. When questions Uncle Murray says that he didn’t do any investigation because he doesn’t have enough information and because of certain restrictions in place against his involvement.

Uncle Murray reluctantly answers some of Randal’s questions regarding his father. He tries to explain that under the Unseelie Accords what Randal’s father Mickey did wasn’t illegal. After the group consigns Anton Lokosic’s body into the hands of Loam, the Water Dragon, they clean up the mess the fight left. Taylor takes Lokosic’s Buick to a wrecker she knows who is willing to make sure the car is disposed of discretely. Once they’ve done cleaning up the mess, they decides to go home and get some rest.

They spend Saturday recovering from their ordeal. Randal goes over to his mother’s house to help her with some yard work. Taylor spends some time catching up on work at the garage and Ginger dyes her hair. Drake decides to pay a visit to Leland Merriweather for some advice.

Drake explains to Leland that they discovered that Lokosic was responsible for the death of Jennifer Christopher and reveals that he was responsible for killing Lokosic with a force bolt to the head. Leland reminds Drake to make sure to be careful regarding the target of the force bolt, because killing a human would be in violation of the First Law of Magic. Eventually Drake asks his mentor if he knows any priests that could help them ensure that Jennifer receives a proper burial. Leland directs his protégé to Father Patrick O’Rourke at the Cathedral of the Christ the King.

On Saturday evening, the four heroes meet up at The Strumpet and Firkin pub for drinks. Drake comes clean about the time he spent in Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital so that they can better understand why he killed Lokosic. Randal asks about the White Council and their importance. Drake proceeds to explain that the White Council is the governing body for Wizards and that the Wardens are their police force. This leads to Drake stumbling through an explanation of the Laws of Magic. His explanation of The Seventh Law of Magic did a good job of confusing the group. Eventually at the end of the night Drake gets around to telling the group that they need to see Father O’Rourke to ensure that Jennifer gets a proper burial.

At one point during the night a drink is sent to the table for Drake. The waitress who brought the drink reveals that it was sent by an average looking blond. Drake saunters over the table to speak with the girl. The girl introduces herself as Alisha and proceeds to flirt with Drake. At the end of the night she kisses him and gives him her phone number. The two eventually go on a date where she claims to have the ability to see ghosts after Drake claims he’s a paranormal psychologist.

Drake, Taylor, Randal and Ginger decide to go to Sunday mass at the Cathedral of the Christ the King. When the mass concludes, Drake approaches the priest who gave the sermon to ask about Father O’Rourke. The young priest who introduces himself as Father Jonathan points to a confessional. Drake goes into the confessional and confesses his sin of killing a vampire. This prompts priest to invite Drake to accompany him into a back room to talk. The story of Jennifer’s death at the hands of the Anton Lokosic comes out. Ginger explains to Father O’Rourke that as a final gesture of respect to Jennifer, she would like to ensure that the girl gets a proper burial. The priest agrees to help (and possibly provide help in the future) and writes a letter for Ginger to give to Catherine Christopher.

Ginger gives the letter to Catherine Christopher. When she reads the priest’s letter indicating that the church will bury her daughter on consecrated ground, she breaks out in tears of joy. She invites the group to Jennifer’s funeral which will be conducted by Father O’Rourke.
